POSH – Prevention of Sexual Harassment
Padala Charitable Trust has been steadfast in its commitment to running impactful programs that cater to the development of children, consistently adapting to meet their needs. In 2024, to further strengthen its operations, PCT developed several key policy guidelines under the Nirantara Sahayak program in collaboration with the Dhwani Foundation. A major highlight of this effort is the introduction of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Policy.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development introduced the POSH Act in 2013, which mandates that every organization with more than 10 female employees must have a POSH policy in place. Understanding the importance of this policy, PCT has implemented it to create a safe and respectful work environment for all women in the organization. The core objective of the policy is to allow women to pursue their careers in a secure, dignified manner.
In line with this policy, PCT has established a dedicated committee to address any concerns related to sexual harassment. A special phone number and email address have also been set up to ensure prompt attention to any issues raised by employees.
As required by Section 21(1) of the POSH Act, every organization with a POSH policy must submit an annual report detailing any complaints received during the year, or stating "NIL complaints" if none were reported. We are pleased to announce that, on January 25, 2025, PCT submitted its POSH Annual Report to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) office. We are proud to report that there were no complaints from women employees, and we were able to submit a NIL complaints report. Furthermore, we are honored to be the first NGO in Kakinada to submit a POSH Annual Return.
