On 27th October 2024, the Padala Charitable Trust (PCT) team visited the APRS Tuni (Girls) for 6th & 7th Grade students as part of the School of Excellence (SOE) programme focussing on Swechha (Adolescent Health Education) & SET (Student Empowerment Training).
The Swechha module aims to create awareness about the physical and mental changes that occur during adolescence. In Phase 1 of Swechha, the focus is on understanding the physical changes, with particular attention to menstruation. During this session, the students learned about the importance of maintaining hygiene during menstruation and the foods that are beneficial during this time. It was emphasized that young girls should be educated about these topics before they reach maturity. The session was highly interactive and many students, some of whom had not yet experienced puberty, showed a keen interest in learning about these important issues.
In the SET (Student Empowerment Training) module, the students were introduced to essential life skills using the AASK (Action, Attitude, Skill & Knowledge) Formula. This formula was used to explore topics such as critical thinking and leadership qualities. Through stories and videos, the students were able to better understand these concepts, fostering their personal growth and development. The use of engaging multimedia content helped make these lessons both relatable and impactful for the students.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors Saransh INC for their generous support, which made this program possible.
