MEO, Kakinada - Why should we give a second chance to anyone for sexually abusing a child? Am I willing to do that if he/she is my child? Every school teacher and Head Master needs to ask these questions.
Social Welfare Hostel Teacher - Now I know how to handle and counsel the students who are trying to abuse the younger fellow students. Thanks to the TOT session by PCT on CSA and POCSO Act.
DRDA Staff - Child Safety should not limit to any one department. We from DRDA will definitely interact with the parental community and increase the awareness on Child Sexual Abuse and POCSO Act.
DWMA Employee - One thing that truly touched me during this training program is awareness about bullying in children. I myself was a victim of this during my childhood and I know how painful and traumatic it was at that age. I am so glad that bullying is made part of Personal Safety Education by PCT.
Head Master - As discussed in the TOT session, Adolescents are so vulnerable and need a lot of help. I was a witness of how the young girls were exploited in a school that I worked at before. It is the need of the hour for us to spread the awareness about Personal Safety Education and Emotional wellbeing of the children in schools and colleges.
These are some of the feedbacks received during the mandal level training programs by PCT on Personal Safety Education, Child Sexual Abuse and POCSO Act.
As part 100%_Child_Safe_District (Anti Child Abuse Campaign) in Kakinada, PCT has been working with the departments of Education, ICDS, DRDA, DWMA and Pachayat Raj. Each department formed a Child Protection Committee with few members at mandal level. These mandal level teams will in turn visit the schools, hostels and anganwadi centers in each mandal and spread the awareness to children, parents and other stakeholders.
PCT has come up with a 3.5 mins promo video on Personal Safety Education that covers private body parts, safety rules, Child Sexual Abuse and different sections in POCSO act.
